Astrasana Holding AG has established a pharmaceutical joint venture in the Czech Republic, creating a dedicated entity for the import and distribution of medical cannabis products in one of Central Europe’s most advanced cannabis markets.

Astrasana Pharma s.r.o., the newly formed company, holds a SUKL licence for pharmaceutical distribution and is authorised to import and distribute medical cannabis products throughout the Czech Republic.

Czech Cannabis Market

The Czech Republic has maintained a legal framework for medical cannabis since 2013, making it one of the earliest adopters in Europe. The market has shown consistent growth, driven by:

  • Increasing physician awareness and prescribing confidence
  • Expanding insurance coverage for cannabis-based therapies
  • Progressive regulatory updates improving patient access
  • A well-established pharmacy distribution infrastructure

Operational Capabilities

Astrasana Pharma s.r.o. operates from the company’s logistics centre in Prague, providing:

  • SUKL-compliant pharmaceutical warehousing
  • Temperature-controlled storage for cannabis products
  • Nationwide distribution to licensed pharmacies
  • Full batch traceability and quality documentation

The Czech Republic joins Switzerland as a core market for Astrasana’s pharmaceutical distribution operations, with plans to leverage this presence for expansion into neighbouring Central European markets.
