Bogen Pharma GmbH, a subsidiary of Astrasana Holding AG, is entering into a partnership with Berlin-based cannabis company Sanity Group. The goal of the collaboration is to sustainably strengthen patient care with cannabinoid-based medicines from Sanity’s avaay Medical brand in Switzerland and to further improve access to innovative therapy options.

A Dynamic Swiss Market

The Swiss medical cannabis market is developing dynamically: around 6,000 patients currently benefit from corresponding medical therapies. Cannabis flowers in particular are becoming increasingly relevant in prescribing practice, while extracts play a complementary role. At the same time, telemedicine is gaining importance for low-threshold, efficient patient care.

Against this backdrop, Sanity Group sees its strengthened presence in Switzerland as an important strategic step: the partnership with Astrasana underscores the country’s significance for medical care in the European context.

Voices on the Partnership

“Switzerland is a key market for us in Europe, both in terms of medical care and with regard to modern regulatory approaches. We are very pleased about the collaboration with Astrasana and look forward to further improving patient care together,” says Leonhard Friedrich, Managing Director of Sanity Group Switzerland.

“We had been looking for a high-quality addition to our existing portfolio for some time,” explains Yves Antoniazzi, Managing Director of Astrasana Holding AG. “However, the strong demand following legalisation in Germany led to supply bottlenecks at many manufacturers, which often made long-term collaboration difficult. With Sanity Group and the avaay Medical product line, we have now found the right partner. The combination of high product quality, professional structures and reliable supply capability gives us the confidence that we can continue to offer our patients in Switzerland a first-class range in the future.”

Combined Expertise

The partnership aims to pool the expertise of both companies in order to address the growing demand in the Swiss market. By combining pharmaceutical competence, digital infrastructure and market experience, the partners intend to set new standards in the supply of medical cannabis.
